Everyone hates counting calories.

So we made it take seconds. One photo gets you an honest estimate with its range.

7 days free on the yearly plan, then €39.99 a year. The details

Nomzo's estimate card for a burger and a side salad: ~780 with a hand-drawn squiggle under it, somewhere between 650 and 900, and chips for a smaller or bigger portion.

How it works

Two taps and it's logged.

The camera is the home screen, so there's nothing to search and nothing to weigh.

The home screen is the camera, pointed at a burger. A pill at the top shows today's total so far and a 14 day streak.
Snap it.
The words sheet with the mic on, and 'two slices of pepperoni pizza and a beer' in the field.
Or say it out loud.
A red curry re-estimated after the note that the rice was half that: the old ~640 struck through, ~520 beside it.
Tell it the rice was half that.
Today's view: ~1,850 so far, one bar with the target as a small notch, the day's four meals, and the line 'A normal Tuesday amount of food.'
It saves itself.

New in 1.1

Now it knows what you're aiming for.

Answer a few questions and you get a daily target, plus a month for reaching your goal.

“You'll reach 76 kg around mid-March.”

Streaks got kinder too. Miss a day and a stitched patch covers it, once a week.

Your plan: ~2,200 kcal a day, 76 kg around mid-March, the day's protein, carbs and fat, then the goal and everyday settings.
Your plan, one tap from the camera.
History: a stitched patch with 14 inside, 14 days looked at, 'Life happened on Thursday. Patched it.', a week of checks with one patched day, and the fortnight as small bars.
History, patch and all.

Why a range

Every number gets a ~

A photo can't prove your lunch was exactly 647, so Nomzo shows the range. The wavier the squiggle, the less sure it is.

Photos go to an AI provider for the estimate, and we don't keep them. Your food log stays on your phone, with no account and no ads.

The boring evidence

Turning up beats being right.

In a six-month trial of nearly 1,700 people, those who wrote down what they ate on most days lost about twice as much weight as those who hardly did. Like every food diary ever checked against reality, theirs underreported, and they worked anyway.

Hollis et al., American Journal of Preventive Medicine, 2008. Burke et al., Journal of the American Dietetic Association, 2011. Neither study was about Nomzo, and neither one is a promise about how it'll go for you.

Questions

Fair questions.

How accurate is it, really?

Usually close, and the range tells you how close. A note like "huge portion, extra rice" brings it closer, but for gram-level precision you want a food scale.

If it's not exact, what's the point?

Noticing. Food diary research keeps finding that the habit matters more than the precision, and the evidence is above.

What happens to my photos?

They're sent to an AI model to make the estimate, and we never store them. The provider keeps the request for a short while to watch for abuse, then deletes it, as the privacy policy explains.

Do I need an account?

No sign-up and no email, just a few setup questions before you start the free week or pick a plan (Android has a free tier too). Pro belongs to your Apple or Google account, so Restore brings it back on a new phone, but your food log stays on the old one.

Why does it ask my weight?

To work out your daily target and a goal date, using a standard formula (Mifflin-St Jeor) plus your workouts. It never leaves your phone, and the plan won't ask for more than 1% of your weight a week (under-18s get a plan to hold steady).

What happens after the free week?

It becomes the yearly plan, charged once for the year, unless you cancel in your App Store or Google Play settings at least 24 hours before it ends. We don't have your email to remind you, so set a reminder yourself.

Is there an iPhone version?

There is. It's the same app on the App Store and Google Play, except that Android keeps a free tier.

Is this medical advice?

No. Nomzo gives calorie estimates for everyday awareness, so if you're managing a medical condition, use the tools your professional recommends.
